Worked under Dr. Andrea Thomaz, advised by Maya Cakmak to develop the perception systems of Simon the robot. I worked mainly with his saliency attention mechanism to develop object preference based on user input and prior ‘beliefs’.

Worked with AR.Drone Parrot robots to create an autonomous target tracking application. Robots search for and detect 'lost' object and report location data. Drones with low batteries are trained to return home. This application will be integrated into a search and rescue system.

This was my thesis project for my Master's capstone class.
The devices represent the IOT components of the system that work with the app to provide information.
This video gives an introduction to manual residential Indian water management systems and demonstrates the high fidelity prototype of our HCDE Capstone project. This project involved research and interviews with families in India to learn about their water management systems and challenges. After some brainstorming we sketched many solutions and eventually tested a prototype of the app you see here. The final design reflects features that meet the prioritized user needs of the families we interviewed.

Work Smart, Work Safe (WSWS) is a secure, shared workspace that guarantees the safety of it’s member’s projects. This office is intended for inventors who need a safe space to develop their inventions. The building entrance is secured and can be entered during ‘Lockdown’ mode by entering a pin code. When the correct code is entered, ‘Lockdown’ mode is disabled.This status of the entered pin and the building mode will display on the LCD screen.
The room also responds to broadcasted alarm messages including fire, gas, intruder and flood. In the case of a fire or flood alert, the power to the computers will be turned off. In the case of a fire, after turning off the computers, the sprinkler system will be activated. In the case of a smoke alert the room’s fan will be turned on for a few seconds to clear it away. Finally, If an intruder alert is received, the intruder alert buzzer will sound.
This prototype was created for the final project of my HCDE 539 class. Additional documentation (including code) available upon request.
