Teddy Kiss: Conductive Thread Practice

Hand Sewing & Wearable Electronics
Personal Project | ~2013-2014

The Project

A adorable soft circuit project using a kit from Target to practice hand stitching techniques and gain more experience working with conductive thread—building on skills from my earlier wearable projects like the Firewalker LED Sneakers.

What I Made

Hand-stitched a plush teddy bear with integrated soft circuits, combining traditional sewing with electronics. This project helped bridge the gap between textile crafts and wearable technology.

Skills Developed

  • Hand stitching techniques for wearables

  • Conductive thread handling and routing

  • Soft circuit construction

  • Integration of electronics into fabric-based projects

Impact

A fun, low-stakes way to refine my soft circuit skills before tackling more complex wearable projects. Plus, it was the most adorable thing I ever made.
